Privacy Policy

This policy explains how we handle personal data collected through stacksignal.media and any related pages we operate (the "Site"), and how we handle personal data collected when we conduct buyer-intelligence research.

It does not cover research findings we deliver to clients under a signed engagement; those are governed separately.

Enquiry data. If you contact us through a form or by email, we collect the information you send us, typically your name, work email, company, role, and the message itself.

Analytics data. With your consent, we collect basic analytics about how the Site is used (pages viewed, referring source, approximate location, device and browser type). We use Google Analytics for this purpose. Analytics is off by default; you choose whether to allow it through the cookie banner, and you can withdraw consent at any time.

Technical data. Standard request data such as IP address and user agent is processed by our hosting provider to deliver and secure the Site.

Network participants and interviewees. Our research is fielded through our engaged network. When someone participates in a study, we may collect their role, firm, category context, and their responses to our questions.

Anonymous by default. Network participant responses are anonymised before they reach clients. We do not identify individual respondents to clients in our reports. Aggregated and de-identified insights, along with firmographic context, may be shared with the client that commissioned the work.

Participation is voluntary and can be withdrawn at any time.

To send occasional business communications where you have opted in, or where we have a lawful basis to do so. You can opt out of any of these at any time.

We rely on the following lawful bases under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR, depending on the activity: your consent (for optional analytics and marketing emails), our legitimate interests (for responding to enquiries, running research, and keeping the Site secure), performance of a contract (for client and supplier relationships), and legal obligation (for tax, accounting, and regulatory records).

Service providers. We share limited personal data with providers who help us run the Site, host the app, send email, and deliver analytics, in each case under written data-protection terms.

Clients. We share anonymised and aggregated findings with the client that commissioned a study. We do not share network participant identities with clients.

Legal and safety. We may share data where we are required to by law, or to protect our rights, our people, or the security of the Site.

We do not sell personal data.

Some of our service providers are located outside the UK and the EEA. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on transfer mechanisms recognised under UK and EU data-protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the UK Addendum, or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Enquiry data is kept for as long as the enquiry is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for follow-up and record-keeping.

Research participation records are kept in a form that supports quality assurance and category history; identifying details are removed once they are no longer needed.

Analytics data is kept in line with the retention settings of our analytics tools.

We use a small number of cookies. Strictly necessary cookies are required to run the Site and are always on. Analytics cookies are only set if you accept them through the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time from the banner.

Under UK and EU data-protection law you have the right to access your personal data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to certain processing, withdraw consent where we rely on it, and, in some cases, receive a copy in a portable format.

If you believe we have not handled your personal data properly, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or to the data-protection authority in your country of residence.

We use commercially reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the current version. If we make a material change, we will highlight it here.
